Few of the football experts doubtedthe successful exit of the Russian national team from the group stage of the final part of the European Football Championship this year. However, our team was among the eight national teams, the first to leave the tournament, which is being held this time in Poland and Ukraine.
The beginning of Euro-2012 brought our fansteam only positive emotions - the Russians justified their hopes and expectations of specialists, with a large score having beaten the Czech team on the opening day of the championship. This, perhaps, was the best game of the national team in the last few years, in which fast flank attacks and their rather effective implementation were successful. Especially distinguished in the implementation of the dangerous moments created by the team, midfielder Alan Dzagoev - he opened the account on the 15th minute of the game, and on 79th held another goal. In addition to him in our team scored two Roman - midfielder Shirokov made it in the 24th minute, and striker Pavlyuchenko - on the 82nd. The Czechs scored only once - on the 52nd minute the goal was spent by Vaclav Pilarzh. The first half of the next meeting can also be attributed to the asset of our national team - the Russians won it by scoring the only goal in the gate of the Polish national team in the 37th minute. This was done by the same Alan Dzagoev - one of two or three players, whose merits in the first three halves of Euro 2012 were not crossed out by the following three. In the second half of this game, the Russians were already unable to create danger at the gate of rivals - leading players of the attack line looked frankly exhausted. With the inaccuracy of Andrei Arshavin, the attack of the Polish team began, which Yuri Zhirkov could not slow down, which led to a goal scored by Yakub Błaszczykowski in the 57th minute into the goal of Vyacheslav Malafeev. The meeting ended in a draw, but our team remained on the top line of the table in group A. The last game of the group stage by our player was enough not to lose to the team that at that time occupied the last line of the table - this would be enough to enter the quarterfinal stage of Euro 2012. However, to score the national team of Greece at least one goal the Russians could not even after Dick Advocaat released an additional attacker and attacking midfielder on the field, replacing them with two defensive players. And the only goal that determined the future tournament fate of our compatriots, the Greeks (Giorgos Karagounis) scored in the time added by the first half, when Yuri Zhirkov and Igor Denisov played unsuccessfully. As a result, Russia became the third team of Group A, which prevented her from continuing to participate in the European Championship.

But soon the Russians concentrated, conducted a good attack, which ended with a corner kick. From this moment the initiative has passed to wards of Dick Advocaat. The turning point of the whole match was an episode on the 16th minute. Dzagoev intercepted the ball in the center of the field, elegantly passed by Czech players and made a transfer to the right flank of attacking Kerzhakov. Alexander immediately struck at the opponent's goal. The sports projectile hit the crossbar and bounced on time shifted to the penalty Alan. The beginning of the second half reminded the first minutes of the match - the Czechs were more active, but now it was already demanding the course of the meeting. Football players of the Russian team clung to their gates, than skillfully took advantage of the opponent. The long-distance transfer of the ball left Malafeev almost one on one with Vaclav Pilarzh, who did not miss his chance to score a goal. The score was 2: 1, the comfortable advantage of Russians was gone, and the Czech national team was inspired. Closer to the final quarter of the match, the players of both teams became tired. The national team of the Czech Republic, having not achieved anything, has slowed down. In addition, Dick Advocaat guessed with a replacement, releasing Pavlyuchenko instead Kerzhakov.
