Pokrovsky stauropegial nunneryis located in Moscow at ul. 58. You can get to it first by metro to Marksistskaya station, then either walk on foot or use land transport.

The full name of the Intercession Monastery in Moscow -Pokrovsky stauropegial nunnery. It was founded by Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich in 1635, was called Bozhedsky and existed at first as a man's monastery. In subsequent years, he repeatedly rebuilt. In the 1920s the monastery was closed, the bell tower was blown up, on the part of the monastery territory a park was laid out. In 1994 the monastery was returned to the church.

Every day a line is being built near the walls of the Intercession Monastery. Believers go to bow to the relics of Matrona of Moscow, ask for holy help and healing.

Matrona Dimitriyevna Nikonova was born in 1885in a peasant family. She was blind from birth, but she had the gift of foresight and the ability to treat people. She lived most of her life in Moscow, where she died in 1952. Her grave at the Danilov cemetery became a place of pilgrimage. In 1998, the transfer of the relics to the Intercession Monastery took place. Soon Matron Moscow was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church.

To get to the Intercession Monastery,take the metro. You must leave at the station Marxist. This is on the yellow, Kalinin line. Once on Taganskaya Street, you'll have to walk 10-12 minutes walk until the red brick walls of the monastery appear. At the entrance to the church, where the relics of the Matrona of Moscow rest, there usually is a line.
