Often people who travel abroad do notsuspect that they can buy goods cheaper than local residents. The fact is that the value of the goods includes the value-added tax. And the foreigner after the purchase has the right to return part of the value of the goods equal to this tax. You can get this money both in the country where you bought the goods, and in Russia, both in Moscow and in another city of the country. So, how to get tax-free?

When buying goods, tell the seller that youwant to issue a tax-free check. To do this, you will need to present your passport as proof that you are a foreigner and do not have a residence permit in this country. When you receive a check, make sure that the seller has filled it correctly. In large stores, a store employee can send you to fill out documents to a special department dealing with tax-free registration.

Upon arrival at a foreign airport or, if youtraveling by train or by car, to the border, contact the customs officer. He must put a seal on your tax-free check. Also you will have to show the goods for which you must return some money, and your passport. In some countries, there is a requirement that the goods should not be used, and should be, for example, in the original packaging. Therefore, do not separate the tags from clothes and transport the purchased equipment and souvenirs in an industrial package.

Please contact the VAT Refund Center. If you did not find it at a foreign airport, you can do it in your hometown. Tax-free services are provided by some banks working with the Global Refund tax refund system, for example, VTB 24 and several others. If the amount of your refund is more than 150 euros, you can get your money not immediately, but only in a day or two.

If you have already arrived in Moscow, come to one of thesimilar banks with a tax-free check and a passport. Get relying on you money. They will be issued in rubles at the current rate of the bank. If the amount is more than 150 euros you may have to wait for a refund within one or two days.

In the event that the amount you are relying onreimbursement of more than 1000 euros, send your tax-free check to the Global Refund organization engaged in registration and tax-free refunds. The address will be indicated on the envelope, which you in this case will be issued by the seller when buying for a large sum of money.
