The city of Budapest appeared on the map relatively recently - after the merger of three cities: Budy, Peshta and Obuda.

Each part of the city surprises with its dissimilarity: the streets of the old Buda, running along the slopes of the hills, are replaced by modern bright boulevards of Pest, enveloped in the luxury of shopping centers and shops.

Budapest is located in a picturesque area. The wide Danube divides the city into two large parts. The first side is the hilly Buda, it is easy to recognize from the texture buildings of the Middle Ages. At the head - snow-white and unusual in form the towers of the Fishermen's Bastion and the Royal Palace. On the other hand, modern Pest, which has become today the cultural, political and economic center of life in Hungary.

Within the boundaries of Budapest, the Danube is washed by the banks of sevenunlike each other's islands. The most famous of them is Margaret Island, which attracts lovers of strolling among a lot of greenery. On the island there is a huge botanical garden and ruins of the Dominican church. Opposite to Margit is the Obuda district, the oldest part of Budapest. Literally everything reminds of the past - buildings, streets, ruins of Roman amphitheaters and temples.

In the city itself you must visitA listed UNESCO Heritage site, Andrassy Avenue, along which such attractions as the Opera House, the Music Academy, the University of Fine Arts, the Kodai Round Square are stretched. The symbol of the capital is the Millennium monument, located on the Heroes' Square.

Interesting for many will visit museumscapital Cities. Stand out among them - the Art Museum, the Museum of Natural History, the Historical Museum, as well as the new museum of hairdressing art, which presents rare tools for hairdressing, many old hairdryers, scissors, razors and other items.

Budapest is the only capital in Europe, whichhas the status of a resort, as the city is rich in thermal springs. The climate of the capital is quite mild, moderately continental. The city is rightly recognized as an excellent place for restoring health and rest.
