Where is he located

The Russian Ethnographic Museum appeared inbeginning of the last century. It was the department of the Russian Museum. For him, a special building was built on Engineering Street, next to the famous repository of works of Russian painting and sculpture. In the 30s, museums were divided, and the ethnographic became known as the State Museum of Ethnography of the Peoples of the USSR. The name "Russian Ethnographic Museum" appeared in 1992, after the collapse of the Soviet Union. It is located in the same building on Engineering Street 4/1, built by the architect V. Svinin.

By metro from the airport

The fastest way to get to the Russianethnographic museum - the metro. The engineering street is adjacent to the Arts Square. The nearest metro station is Nevsky Prospekt. It is on the blue (second) subway line. If your path lies from Pulkovo Airport, you can go to the Russian Ethnographic Museum without a transfer. The bus from the airport in any case will take you to the metro station "Moskovskaya", which is also on the blue line. At the station "Nevsky Prospekt" you need to go to Mikhailovskaya street. The entrance to the underground passage under Nevsky Prospekt, it needs to go through and turn right. Before you will be a short Mikhailovskaya street, overlooking the Square of Arts. In the center of it is the famous monument to Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. If you face him, just before you will be the State Russian Museum, and the Russian Ethnographic Museum will be on your right. From train stations

The station "Nevsky Prospekt" is quite easyget from the train stations. If you come to Finland, you need to go from the Ploshchad Lenina station two stops to Vosstaniya Square, go to Mayakovskaya and go one stop to the Gostiny Dvor station. From it you can go through the lobby of the station "Nevsky Prospekt" or go to Gostiny Dvor, turn left and walk to the underground passage at the corner of Nevsky and Mikhailovskaya. From Moscow Station you can immediately get to the Mayakovskaya. If you come to the Baltic or Vitebsk train stations, it is more convenient to make a transfer at the station "Technological Institute" - both from the "Baltic" and from "Pushkin" it is at a distance of one haul. From Ladoga station it is better to get to Spasskaya, go to "Senna" and drive one stop. Ground transportation in this area is not very convenient. There are, of course, many routes along the center of St. Petersburg. But the nearest stops are at the same distance as the metro. In addition, the traffic situation in the daytime hours is such that you can get there by foot faster.
