What distinguishes gasoline AI-92 from AI-95

Gasoline is the main fuel, used for refueling vehicles. It is obtained by dividing the oil into fractions. There are several brands of gasoline, differing from each other in their characteristics.

What distinguishes gasoline AI-92 from AI-95
Gasoline brands AI-92 and AI-95 are the mostdemanded fuels in the CIS. The letter "A", in the abbreviation, means that petrol is automotive. The letter "AND" shows that the octane number is determined by the research method. All used grades of gasoline differ in the octane number, which characterizes the detonation resistance of the fuel, i.e. its ability to resist self-ignition upon compression. The higher this number, the more stable the molecules of gasoline. Usually, the increase in the octane number is achieved by the addition of various additives. In practical use, the AI-95 gasoline is not much different from the IA-92. But AI-95 is more economical and environmentally friendly, because it contains fewer lead impurities. In addition, the use of AI-95 reduces the likelihood that the valves and pistons of the engine will burn out. AI-92 is often referred to as obsolete fuels. It is not produced in EU countries, as it does not meet environmental requirements. However, all this may not make any difference, since it has long been known that in our country the quality of gasoline often depends not on its octane number, but on the decency of the producer and seller of fuel.
