1
Make sure that you understand the basicthe difference between the XML and HTML formats - the first one is for describing the contents of the document, while the second is intended to describe the display. In general, the XML format is a method of allocating in a certain way organized information in a text document to ensure the recognition of the selected data by different programs. Unlimited opportunities to use the variable tags of this format are designed to provide the ability to identify, transfer and interpret information between programs. The style sheet tables allow you to convert the selected information according to the instructions contained in them and determine the possible formatting methods.
2
View the desired XML document in the applicationExcel without using the stylesheet. This option will result in a linear display of data in the form of a table consisting of headers, in the role of which are XML tags, and lines with the corresponding information. The root node of the file, which is the first element of the document, becomes the title of the entire table in this variant, and all remaining tags are arranged in alphabetical order. Each line of such a table is unique and does not repeat.
3
Using linked style sheetsimplies the choice of the method for displaying the document data. Be sure to use a tag with a value of? Xmlversion = "1.0"? to provide the ability to view the XML file created in any other application. If the specified tag is not used, the text version of the selected document is displayed.
4
Open the "Data" menu of the top service panelExcel windows to create the necessary web request and specify the item "Import external data". Use the "Create Web Request" subcommand and enter the data.
