You collected a computer, put it harddisk SATA. Trying to install Windows from a CD, but the computer reports that no hard drives have been found. Most likely, the problem is not in the disk, but in the version of Windows - it's too old and does not contain drivers for SATA. The best solution in this situation is to find another installation disk. As a rule, any version of Windows 7 or Windows XP SP3 has all the necessary drivers.

When you start the computer, carefully look behind the first information appearing on the screen - in particular, the data about the size of memory and found disks will be displayed. If the information about the disks is, everything is in order, the system sees them.

If the disc is completely new, and you bet on itOS, the necessary operations, in particular, formatting in the NTFS system (when installing Windows), occurs during the installation process. Sometimes there can be a situation where when you install the computer reports that the OS can not be installed on this disk. This is because the disk is not active.

To fix the problem, use the programAcronis Disk Director, run it from the CD and split your disk into at least two - drive C and drive D. This is convenient: on the C drive you will have an OS and programs, on the D drive - data. The work with the program is intuitive and easy, after the partitioning, do not forget to click the "Run" button. Next, make the C drive active by clicking it with the mouse and selecting the desired option on the left side of the program. After that, the installation of the OS should pass normally.

If you are installing a new disk asadditional, after the system boot up, open: "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Administration" - "Computer Management" - "Disk Management". The new disk for now is an unallocated space, right-click it and select "Create volume". After creating the volume, you can use the disk.
