Very often in the refrigerator there are products, fromwhich you can make a simple and tasty dish. For example, potato cutlets with herring. Prepare them easily, and dinner for the household will turn out piquant and satisfying.

Cutlets from potatoes and herrings

You will need

  • - boiled potatoes - 4 pcs.
  • - herring - 1 pc.
  • - onion - 1 pc.
  • - Butter - 100 g
  • - Egg - 1 pc.
  • - cheese - 50 g
  • - breadcrumbs
  • - flour - 4 tbsp. spoons
  • For the sauce you will need:
  • - 1 cup of broth
  • - 1 glass of sour cream
  • - 50 g of butter
  • - 1 tbsp. spoon of flour
  • - salt, ground pepper, greens to taste

Herring soak, clean, remove bones and peel, then finely chop. If desired, you can pass through the meat grinder.

Stir the potatoes with a fork until smooth. You can use a grater, the best with a fine notch.

Bulb finely chop and fry in butter until soft and golden.

Separate the yolk from the protein. Combine grated potatoes, fried onions, herring, add grated cheese, pour in the egg yolk. Gradually add flour to the mass, achieving the desired consistency for gluing and forming cutlets.

To form cutlets. Beat the protein until it forms a foam. Dip each cutlet into a beaten protein, roll in flour or breadcrumbs and fry in a heated frying pan until it forms an appetizing brown crust.

How to cook sauce. Fry the flour in oil until golden brown. Remove from the plate and gradually, with stirring, pour in the broth. Put on fire, add sour cream, pepper, salt and a little more to cook. In the prepared sauce add greens.
