KAMAZ "Typhoon" is a representative of cargoarmored cars of a new generation. The development of Russian designers. Its task is to transport people and cargo to the zone of military conflict. The typhoon is not intended for active combat operations on the front line, but it has an unprecedented level of protection for domestic technology. He is able to withstand a mine explosion (8 kg in TNT equivalent), shelling with armor-piercing bullets and even ambush.

There are 2 prototype KAMAZ vehicles fromfamily "Typhoon": modular and case. The first consists of two separate parts: a cabin and a functional module in the form of a passenger armored armor. This design allows you to design modules for various tasks. In other words, this machine can be made: a communication machine, an excavator, a mobile art. system, truck crane, tow truck and pontoon carrier. You just need to install the necessary module on the chassis, and the machine is ready. Modular car accommodates 16 people, in addition, in the back of the bunk. Corpus the same car can not afford this, it only accommodates 10 people in an assault + 2 team members. But there is a door for the transition from the cabin to the passenger compartment. In both samples, the engine is not located under the cabin, but behind it, which allows for technical work in the engine compartment without leaving the machine.

"Typhoon" weighs 24 tons, and its "heart" isa six-cylinder turbo diesel engine with a capacity of 450 horsepower. The motor received a prize for technological breakthrough. The machine is equipped with ceramic armor (a series of layers of ceramics and metal), which is much lighter and stronger than usual (protects from bullets B-32). Specially for the "Typhoon" a new armored glass with a weight of 300 kg per 1 sq.m. The circular view is provided by 5 video cameras: 2 front, 2 on the sides and 1 behind. Under the ceiling of the cabin are 2 screens that recline when driving with damaged glass and lowered shutters, different information on the technical condition of the machine is also displayed on them. In the passenger module, the designers developed a reclining armored platform. With the use of weapons of mass destruction, the filter-ventilation system will provide fighters with breathing air.
