Installing a Satellite Antenna

To install the antenna on a concrete or brick surface, you will need a sufficiently powerful perforator and strong anchors to secure the plate to the surface. Usually bundled with antennas are cheap screws of poor quality. Do not save on fasteners, because the plate is subject to a strong wind load and it can be broken by a gust of wind. Follow the attached instructions, assemble the plate, attaching the bracket to the parabolic reflector. Attach the converter to the holder. Usually it is not included in the kit, and it must be purchased separately. After selecting a location for installation, attach the bracket to the surface and mark the future holes. Drilling them with a puncher, fix the antenna with the help of anchors. The next step is to connect the wires to the converters. To do this, they need to be cleaned, exposing the central core a few millimeters. At the ends of the cable, you need to put on the F-connectors, wrapping them up to the stop. Route the wires to the hole leading to the apartment. They should be secured with plastic clamps or tape, otherwise they may be damaged by wind. Cables coming from the dish, connect to the receiver. After installing the antenna, you need to configure it. The best way is to arm yourself with a receiver and a compact TV. This will allow you to see the result in the configuration process and make corrections immediately. If this is not possible, you will need an assistant who will turn the antenna while you are at home in front of the TV and direct the radio or telephone setting. Now the main task is to catch the signal from the satellite. The choice of the exact direction depends on which one you plan to take. To move the antenna should be very accurate, because even a displacement of several millimeters can lead to loss of signal. Adjustment is carried out in several planes. If you set the antenna perpendicular to the ground, start tuning in the horizontal plane, gently rotating it along the horizon line. If the receiver shows that the signal is found, achieve its maximum value by catching the point at which it is the strongest. Go to the vertical adjustment. To do this, very carefully move the antenna down and up to achieve the best reception quality. After this, you can make a finer tuning by rotating the converter around its axis. Pointing the antenna on the satellite, tighten all the screws, otherwise the tuning will fail and you will have to start all over again.
