Who are called poachers?

Poaching is understood as illegal hunting orFishing, which violates the requirements of the law. Poachers are those who carry out fishing without proper license, in forbidden places, violate the terms of hunting or conduct it in ways and instruments that are expressly forbidden by law. For many thousands of years man and animals have been forced to coexist with each other. Some representatives of fauna were gradually tamed by man and became domestic animals. Others are still considered dangerous predators or game, to which a person continues to hunt. In former hunting times, it was often the only way for a person to provide himself with food. Subsequently, the person realized that fur, skins and bones of individual animals can be used on the farm.

Having taken the highest place in the food chain, a man began thoughtlessly to exterminate many species of animals, often not for survival, but simply for the sake of sporting interest.

The losses suffered by the fauna as a result ofmindless hunting, reduced the number of species. Therefore, many states began to impose restrictions on the shooting and capture of wild animals. Time was fixed for hunting, places were determined for it. A list of legally permitted hunting methods was also drawn up. As a rule, only those who obtained a license (permission) from the state can carry out hunting.

How to protect nature from poachers

What are the usual restrictions for hunters? Hunting is prohibited during the breeding season of wild animals. Weapons must have certain characteristics and be registered with law enforcement. You can not beat the beast in the territories of national parks and reserves. Rare and endangered species of animals are subject to special protection. These strict rules, unfortunately, many hunters ignore. Statistics from different countries show that the level of poaching remains high. And most often the impetus for breaking the law is the pursuit of easy profit. Some businessmen, for example, are willing to pay a lot for the skins of rare animals or for the valuable tusks of elephants.

The worst case of poaching is in developing countries, where illegal hunting often becomes the only means of survival for poachers and their families.

Governments of countries interested inpreservation of the animal world, take measures to combat poaching. Organized special teams of rangers who patrol the reserves, catch violators of the law, withdrawing the prey and hunting tools. In the legislation of several countries there is administrative, and sometimes even criminal, liability for violation of the rules of hunting and fishing.
