Euroleague is the most prestigious basketball gametournament in Europe. It takes place every year, it involves the strongest European teams. The 2011/2012 season is the twelfth draw under the auspices of ULEB (from the French Union des Ligues Européennes de Basket-Bal).

In the season 2011-2012 for the victory in the EuroleagueTwenty-four European clubs fought. The entry of teams into the tournament is determined in accordance with a fairly complex system of licenses. So, immediately go to the championship of 13 teams with long-term licenses, the current holder of the European Cup (not to be confused with the Euroleague) and ten teams with one-year licenses. The draw for the tournament was held on July 7, 2011 inBarcelona, according to its results, 24 teams were divided into four groups. The first basket (A) included Fenerbahce, Olympiakos, Kant, Bilbao, Kaha Laboral, Nancy. In the second (B) - CSKA, Panathinaikos, Unicaja, Zalgiris, Bamberg, Zagreb. In the third (C) hit Real Madrid, Maccabi, Efes Pilsen, Milan, Partizan, Charleroi. The places in the fourth group (D) went to the teams of Barcelona, Siena, UNICS, Galatasaray, Prokom, Olympia.

The final four took place in Istanbul from 11 to 13 May. In the semifinals met CSKA and Panathinaikos, Olympiakos and Barcelona. The final match of CSKA - Olympiakos took place on 13May at the stadium "Sinan Erdem Dome" in the Turkish capital. And this Greek team CSKA played twice in the preliminary stage, but, alas, the final match became a mirror image of the semi-final.
