However, there is a trophy, which is awarded to the winning team only a few years, but it is considered one of the most honorable in the history of world sports. This is the Gagarin Cup.
Gagarin Cup is the most prestigioushockey trophy not only in Russia, but also in Europe. This cup began to play out in Russia from the 2008-2009 season. The trophy is awarded to the winner of the KHL League (Continental Hockey League). The Cup is named after the first cosmonaut of the country and the whole planet - Yuri Gagarin. In the drawing of the trophy take part in 8 teams of Western and Eastern conferences KHL. The cup is a rolling one, so any player of the winning team can bring it to their city.
On the goblet is engraved the image of Gagarinin the spacesuit. It is made of silver, weighs 19 kg with a volume of 12 liters. Each hockey player-winner, including coaching staff, masseurs, doctors gets the opportunity to touch this trophy and raise it above his head.
