Try to contact the Interests SectionThe Russian Federation, which is located at the Embassy of Switzerland in Tbilisi. Here you will be able to issue permission to travel to Russia from Georgia at the invitation of your relatives. You can make a preliminary call and arrange a meeting by phone 8-10- (99532) 91-26-45, 91-24-06 or visit the institution immediately at: I.Chavchavadze avenue, house 51. Find out what documents you need to send to the residents in Russia to relatives. Usually these are copies of the passport, certificates of affirmation of kinship, certificates of income.

Confirm copies of papers from the notary. If your relatives do not speak the Georgian language, order their translation and confirm the documents in Russian separately. Provide them to the Interests Section of the Russian Federation and put an apostille. Send documents to relatives by mail or through courier service.

Get an invitation from relatives withletter of guarantee. Contact the Interests Section of Russia and apply for one or more guest visas in accordance with the number of invited persons. You will also need a valid passport. Please note that not all applications are approved. It depends on the current political situation in both countries. If you accept the application and have all the necessary documents within a week, you will be issued a 30-day guest visa.

Determine the way to travel to Russia. There are several options that are the most accessible for the citizens of Georgia. For example, you can take an airplane flight to Moscow, if at the moment there are no failures in air travel. You can also drive to the Russian Federation by car, bypassing the Upper Lars checkpoint. There is also the option of buying tickets for a train going through Azerbaijan or Armenia.
